PROPERTY PURCHASE TRANSFER TITLE COSTS IN MADEIRA ISLAND FOR 2009
The IMT Tax on property which forms part of the transfer title costs when purchasing property has been revised for 2009; this year there are two tables – one for permanent residents (people who reside for 6 months and more during the year) and another for second home owners who reside on the island for less than 6 months during the year.
IMT Tax on the island is less than that on the mainland continent of Portugal.
