Madeira Wine Festival - From the 4th to the 7th of September
Madeira Island has a very rich culture and provides year round cultural entertainment events and festivities, which draw hundreds of tourists throughout the year. The Madeira Wine Festival is held in September during the grape harvest and features a whole ritual of emblematic Madeiran folk celebration which is enjoyed by all. Live song and dance folk shows are held in the city centre of Funchal, symbolizing the islanders’ traditional history of wine-making and the importance of its economical role.
